The Pond One Prefilter Sponge is a larger sponge than standard. It comes in 4 sizes to fit most pond pumps with a 1/2" or 3/4" threaded intake fitting. This allows a larger water intake area, reducing the stress on your pond pump and extra filtration to remove fish waste and particles. Prefilter Sponge also provides increased surface area for beneficial bacteria to grow and multiply to enhance the breakdown of harmful ammonia and nitrite. Sponge is easily removable for regular cleaning.
