Bella Sasso Cat litter is made from Diatomaceous Earth. Diatmaceous Earth is an entirely organic, non-toxic and safe to use natural mineral. Diatomaceous Earth (or DE) is made from the crushed fossils of freshwater organisms called Diatoms. 

Diatoms are basically microscopic sponges, and that gives our litter a very high absorption power. The diatoms are upholstered and joined by Montmorillonite clay which gives our litter a high cation exchange capacity. This is where the magic happens! 

The great power of the cationic exchange capacity and its controlled granulometry allows our granule to catch elements in suspension. This means once urine and faeces come into contact with our litter only some water can evaporate. It does not allow for the evaporation of elements that cause unpleasant odours. Odours are trapped like a magnet! 

Cats love bella sasso as it is soft on paws and very low tracking. Unlike silica litters, Diatomaceous Earth is safe if it’s accidentally ingested. bella sasso is virtually dust free which is gentle on sensitive eyes and ears making it perfect all cats, even kittens.
